Spider Guard

BJJ Spider Guard
Technique Description:

The Spider Guard originated over the last few decades to be used in sport BJJ. While there are many possible Spider Guard positions, it is most commonly used when the Spider Guard player holds both of his opponent's sleeves in a Cuff Grip, and places each of his feet on his opponent's same-side biceps, with one leg extended. A good Spider Guard player can make it very difficult to break his Spider Guard grips, and it allows for a wide range of sweeps, submissions, and variations on the Spider Guard.
